The Fool Card represents each of us as we travel our life path. All of your experiences along the way shape and mold you into your fullest potential. In our lives; we play the roles of both the teacher and the student, the wise and the foolish, etc. In this card, we see the young man prancing along with his dog, enjoying the sunny day and being thankful for all he’s received. He is near the edge of the cliff. The lesson is one of balance, not to be so oblivious that we fall off the path, but not to be so serious and calculating that we forget to be spontaneous, youthful, and joyful at the process of life.
Position 1: Background | Present Concern
In the first position, the Fool indicates the individual in the process of learning some of life’s biggest lessons. The fool is energetic, curious, with high ideals and hope. There is also a tendency here for indecision, naivety, and lack of self-discipline. This tends to be the person who is actively pursuing spiritual growth and trying to find their place in the grand scheme of things.
Position 2: Your Drive and Motivations
The Fool represents the motivation for an end to struggle within. He indicates a person who is driven by a need to attain a state of contentment and peace but is unsure how to get there. Life’s lessons may be testing your faith at the moment.
Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious
The fool card in this position indicates a struggle, a period of time in which the individual questions his/ her beliefs. Fear of new and unknown things. Fear of Self, not wanting to face things within that you need to address in order to grow. Fear of taking chances or making choices.
Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly
Re-establish your sense of faith in difficult times and learn to go with the flow. Life’s journeys are what we make of them. They are controlled by our reactions to them. Learn to embrace each moment for it’s fullest potential. Living in the moment helps you restore your balance and find your center.
Position 5: Course of Action
The Fool tells us to let it be OK with us that some things are beyond our current knowledge and experience. There is a higher wisdom present in the Universe that we can tap into that helps us find joy and peace in the journey. You miss out when you pin all of your hopes only on the destination.
